I have installed OpenFOAM 1.3 on an AMD64 ubuntu system today.

The installation is ok, I can run the first tutorial without problem. But when I try to start FoamX I receive this error:

****START ERROR*********

****END ERROR***********

It seems that the java executable cannot be found. I have checked that the file does exist in the specified directory.

I found similar problem on OpenFOAM 1.2:
http://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D...tml?1151539351

The problem on that thread was missing app.class from lib/FoamX.jar. However, I could not even execute "jar lib/FoamX.jar" because it will have the same error message that "jar" file cannot be found. Furthermore, I believe that the missing app.class has been corrected in 1.3.

Any suggestion where should I move from this point?

Thanks,

Ery

having the same problem with 1.4 on kubuntu feisty faun (fresh install with no previous OF versions).

there is a App.class in:

OpenFOAM-1.4/applications/utilities/preProcessing/FoamX/lib/FoamX.jar

Can the case difference cause the error?

I had a similar problem with F

I had a similar problem with FoamX on Fedora Core 6. I had to set SELinux secutiry to disabled... In a first time, it was set to "Strict" and that was the problem... Hope this can help!
