is it possible to define monitor points in OpenFoam? later I want to write the results at these specific monitor points into files. |

You do need to add some things to the solver you want to use, but these things allready exists in the form of probes.
Have a look at the LES code oodles. It allows the user to specify probe locations via a dictionary. You only need to add a few lines to incorporate probe functionality. |

And pardon me too for restarting really late, but exactly the same question
I read on other parts of the forum that a functionality like this is included in the Oodles tutorial but this is no longer present in OF 2.0. Basically Im searching for a way to save flow variables at specific points in space in my domain during the simulation. I dont have the space to save my entire domain for many timesteps so I can sample it in post-processing. |
