patch with different bc

Dear All,

first of all i hope this is posted in the right spot, i am new to all of this, so please fogive me 'stupid' questions.

My question is, if there is a way to put two different boundary conditons in one patch.
I'm using interFoam (1.5) to simulate a multi-phase channel flow, but the outflow in the end of the channel is not completely open, but has a triangular shape. I can't quite explain, so I made a drawing.

The issue is that I have to set gamma, pd and U in different BCs, whereas for the outlet:
U: pressureInletOutletVelocity
pd: totalPressure
gamma: inletOutlet

and for wall:
U: fixedValue
pd: zeroGradient
gamma: zeroGradient

Is there any way to do it like nonuniform BC like here http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...condition.html since i can't make patches out of 3 vertices?

I'm happy for any help!

Hi Conny,

to my knowledge (which can be wrong!!) it is not possible to set something like a split boundary condition.
But what you could do: Make four blocks with a triangular shape instead of two rectangular blocks. Usually you should be able to define that by putting two side-lines of the building block onto each other.

For example if usually you have
block (0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7) for the rectangular one, you could use
block (0 1 6 7 4 5 6 7) for the first block and
block (0 1 2 3 0 1 6 7) for the second block.

I do not know if that is a nice solution. But some time ago it worked at least for building the basis structure of something...
