Volume Scheme: upwind and linearUpwind

Hi all,

I would like to know what is the difference between 'upwind' and 'linearUpwind' in the OpenFoam finite volume scheme.

Thank you,

;)

Upwind is your standard 1st order upwind scheme.

linearUpwind is a 2nd order scheme, essentially a Taylor series expansion about the cell center requiring gradient information (hence, the 2nd order accuracy).

A contribution after 11 years:

J. Guerrero's Finite Volume Method: A Crash introduction's 14th and 15th slides give a succinct explanation for the upwind and linearUpwind schemes.
