Hi guys,

In Jasak's thesis Page 144.It says: (see the image equation 1 2 3).I dont know how can I get equation 3 from equation 2.
AFAIK,in SIMPLE algorithm,I can get equations similarly(from eq.4 to eq.5).So back to Jasak's thesis , should it be equation 6?Where is the diffusion term in his thesis?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Forrest,
I think that what Dr. Jasak means is that the convection term can be calculated from the sum of the flow times velocity at the faces, and that will result in a contribution to ap and the an's, how this contribution will be effectively calculated depends on the convection scheme that is used.
Best Regards,
Paulo

Hi Paulo,

Thanks for your answer, but Im still confused.I write it in this IMAGE.In the last equation. There is no diffusive term. Please help me to check it out. Thanks!!!

Hi Forrest,
The diffusive term certainly have an influence that must be included in ap and the an's. The ap and the an's from equation 3 of your first post are not the same as the ones in the third eq of your second post. The equations 1, 2 and 3 of your first post are for an hypothetical situation for steady flow without diffusion and other sources.
Best Regards,
Paulo
