I/O time

The measurement criteria can divided into CPU time and wall clock time, which the later one consist of CPU time, I/O time and communication channel delay.
What is the I/O time?

I/O generally refers to Input/Output. In other words, I/O time is related to the reading and writing of files. For large cases, this time can be a substantial amount.
