Dear all,

I have installed OF 221 at /opt, and later on I create my own solver my_icoFoam which only can be down as I logined as root. Because it just a practise, I want to delete this solver but couldn't. Anyone can give me a hand?

Now the executable locate at /opt/openfoam221/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/bin.

regards,
Hao

If you created your own solver and added a new entry in Make/files then you should just go to the parent directory of the "Make" folder and execute "wclean". If there are other executables in "Make/files" then you can remove the entry of your solver from "Make/files" and execute "wmake" again. Then all executables for all the solvers but your own should be generated again. After that you can just remove your .O and .H files.

Hi Pete,

Thank you for your reply. I went to the directory of my_icoFoam in which there is a Make folder and run wclean but the executable still remain in /opt/openfoam221/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/bin.

regards,
Hao

akidess will become famous soon enough
Use "sudo". You cannot remove files located in /opt as a regular user.
