OpenFOAM being large scale software, many times it is difficult to trace down the hierarchy and logical order of the algorithm using brute-force scanning of files. I am wondering whether there exist any bidirectional UML tool that integrates with OpenFOAM code for viewing as well as generating foam compatible code from UML diagrams. That greatly improves the productivity of OpenFOAM developers!

Doxygen generated documentation is quite useful to understand existing structure of OpenFOAM. Code to UML is already existing in standard distribution. My query is primarily about two way UML integration, where i graphically make various UML diagrams, and then generate foam compatible code automatically.
At present i am planning make some python wrappers (for foam coding standards) and then integrate with any FOSS/commercial UML software. I can team up with any one having some experience in these areas. |
