Velocity in a Turbulent boundary layer

Hi!

I had a look on the turbulence models, e.g. k-epsilon.
But i don't really understand how the wall treatment works.
There are three questions:

OF is only updating the epsilon values and the k gradient at the nearest cell to the wall and solves the equations for the inner field, right?

But why is the velocity not influenced directly by the wall function with e.g. a log-law?

Or is all that done in the correctBoundaryConditions() routine?

thanks a lot,
rupert
