Hello everyone. I'm facing an issue that seems simple but I can't find a solution for it.
I'm simulating a countercurrent flow of vapor/liquid, with vapor phase absorption. The solution is going well and doesn't cause divergence. However, when I add another phase (solid), it ends up causing divergence in the solution. What ends up happening is that the temperature becomes negative, I tried limiting it but it didn't work. Another thing is the increase in the Courant number, but even with the higher velocity within the solid spaces (due to porosity), using a low inlet velocity still causes the issue. The case seems quite similar to the trickle bed tutorial with some modifications. Case: 3 Phases - Solid, Liquid, Gas 1D multiphaseEulerFoam - OpenFoam v8 reaction Chemistry transfer mass between phases - CO2 to Liquid Boundary_Condiction: pressure: prghTotalPressure -Outlet ; fixedFluxPressure -Inlet Velocity / Composition (Y)/ Alpha / Temperature: fixedValue -inlet; zeroGradient -Outlet |
