Currently I am doing some rotational cases which are quite similar as you. I am wondering how do you merge the interfaces between two separate domains in ICEM? And would you please share the tutorial with me, since the link seems does not work any more.

I am working with the cyclicAMI using a mesh generated with ICEM.
It is a airfoil extruded where the trailing edge zone and wake ( a box around the TE) has been refined quite a lot in relation to the resto of the mesh.

In your tutorial, you did not perform any faceSet, setsToZones, splitMeshRegions or setsToZones procedures that other users have done in their simulations.

Could someone explain why those procedures are or are not neccessary to be perform to run the simulation?

I have a multiregion mesh according to checkMesh and I have changed the boundary file. Is it not needed to done anything else?

Hello,

Yes if you wanna use ICEM to generate mesh for OpenFOAM using AMI. You dont need to do topoSet. Actually these utilities such as topoSet, splitMesh,etc. are connected with sappyHexMesh I think. If you wanna generate mesh by SHM, Im sure you have to use topoSet.

The important thing you have to make sure is you have two AMI face meshes, in ICEM, you can generate it seperately. If you have two regions, and two AMI faces, you dont need to do more.

What these OpenFOAM utilities do is to deal with mesh regions, if you can do it in the other way, you can neglect it. Anyway you can use them to deal with your mesh if you are faimilair with it.
