is it possible to modify fvSchemes during the run?
can make changes in fvSchemes such that have an effect on solution like what we have about controlDict(runTimeModifiable)?

But why don't you just try such stuff instead of asking every time? |
i mean after 10000 iterations for example if we change fvSchemes does it have any effect on solution when we continue it?just because it isnt clear that new scheme has any effect or its old scheme that is used by openfoam again.can you say me how find that till not asking?!!

It would be faster than waiting an hour to wait for someone to answer you! ;) Best regards, Bruno |
my friend i should make my question clearer.i was changing boundary conditions after some iterations but nothing was happend about divergence.after 2 disapointig days i found out that because boundaries are in 0 folders it isnt read after some iteration and its the cause of not changing in results.i want to be certain it doesnt repeat again for schemes.my run takes too time for starting all from begining.
I can only Thank some people that have been helping untill now. |
Hi there,
A Good Evening to you! Its great that you decided to use OpenFOAM for your thesis, but you should also realise, that OpenFOAM is not a "plug-n-play", "ready-to-use" CFD software which can be installed and run to obtain results straight off. Ideally, when you start with OpenFOAM (specially for something like a Thesis), you need to set aside atleast one month in the initial phase in order to familiarise yourself with OpenFOAM and the concepts behind the tool. This will help you clarify exactly the kind of questions you have been asking over the last two weeks on the forum. It is a known fact that OpenFOAM has a very steep learning curve, and most of the time, there is no "short-cut" for this other than trying out several simple and targeted cases or tutorials before you actually start trying to simulate your real cases. I have found the members of this OpenFOAM forum to be extremely helpful and friendly, but once people realise that you are not putting an effort to figure things out by yourself first before asking questions on the forum, the amount of help you will receive will progressivly reduce. Hope you take this in the right way! I am not trying to discourage you, but just trying to make sure that you do not feel frustrated when you dont get answers to your questions. Have a nice day ahead! Philippose |
