Pipe line pressure drop

Hi foamers,

I wondering what is the proper solver for my problem..

Description: I have some very high gradient curve pipe system with flow splitter. For now I use simpleFoam solver and kEpsilon turbulent model. My main goal is to calculate the pressure drop of the system.

Thanks

And another question....

I use simpleFoam solver for the problem.

When I change the k and epsilon parameters I have no effect on the pressure drop.

Is there a reason for this?

Thanks

Hi, you have to give a proper initialization for the problem,

http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Turbu...ary_conditions

in addition basic k-epsilon model could not behave well with high curvature pipes (for examples search in google the solution of the U-Bend problem).

Regards.
