Converting a species to particle

Hi,

I am working on dieselFoam, using Openfoam 2.0.x. The n-heptane mechanism used with dieselFoam is the one given in the tutorial, the global mechanism for n-heptane. The end product of the combustion are CO2 and H2O.

What I plan to do is to track Co2 once it is formed and trace its path. Instead of a contour distribution of mass fraction of Co2, I would like to visualize them in particle form and see the path it takes as the simulation goes.

-Will solidParticle library do the trick??
-How to convert the Co2 species into a lagrangian particle for openfoam to track??

Thanks.
