Hi everyone! I'm working on a case setup involving AMIs and sixDoF-motion. It can roughly be described as a hydrofoil attached to a long rod which is hinged at both ends, allowing it to rotate like a weather vane with the incoming flow.

Since the hydrofoil should have a large range of motion, I've opted for a sliding interface instead of mesh deformation and layer addition/removal. My problem is that I can't find any mesh motion solvers for sliding meshes (i.e. that take cellZones as input parameters) where the rotational motion isn't prescribed beforehand (f.ex. the mixerAMI2D and propeller tutorials).

Do you know of any examples where 6DoF-type solvers have been used to predict motion on a sliding mesh?

I don't have the current case setup on hand today, but I'm attaching a sketch that shows roughly what I wan't to accomplish. At the momen, the geometry only rotates around the central axis (marked theta_t):
