Front tracking and mesh manipulation
I would like to compute a wood chip set on fire. The mesh is 2D axisymetric.
Physically, there will be reactions fronts (I would like to refine the mesh around them) that will preceed the flame . Then, the flame (I don't want to compute it). Finally, ashes that I do not want to model.
I would like to know if there was any tutorial / threads related to front tracking, mesh shrining (in order to remove the burnt wood).

If I remember correctly, the OpenFOAM tutorial that comes to my mind is "multiphase/interDyMFoam/ras/damBreakWithObstacle", where the surface between fluid and the air is more refined and is gradually refined/unrefined during the simulation, while the interface surface goes along the way.
For the rest, there are several kinds of combustion solvers in OpenFOAM, found in the "tutorials" sub-folder "combustion". Problem is that I don't think that there are any "dynamic mesh" ones for what you're looking for, but I could be wrong or simply outdated :)
