Dear Buddies

In my case, flow has recirculation zones (cause its a bluff-body stabilized flow). which scheme do you prefer for the following divergence operations:

div(phi,U)
div(phiU,p)

My flow field must have both positive and negative values together in the 3-D domain.
My suggestion is Gauss upwind.

Regards
Bobi

Dear Bobi,

Upwind will be way too diffusive, might even remove the recirculation zone at all. I would suggest to use one of the TVD schemes like Gamma. Please have a look in the user guide. limitedLinear or linearUpwind would also be 'standard' candidates.

Best would be to try and see what works best, maybe for a smaller but similar problem in order to save time.

Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply; Actually I tested upwind and limitedlinear and as you have mentioned The result was much better stability for limitedlinear scheme.

Bobi
