I am quite new in OpenFOAM and in this forum, I need to simulate a problem of natural convection using buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam where the flow should very likely be always laminar.

-Will the values of k, epsilon, nut in the 0 folder be taken in consideration during the simulation or these values are not considered since the flow should be fully laminar?

-If these will be considered for the simulation, how can I determine the values I should insert in the 0 folder?

Thanks for the help.

Hi!
If you set your case to laminar, they wont. The turbulence model read them. If you don't have, they are redundant. OF always read only that field which is needed. Nothing more. You can put anything else into the folders, they won't affect the solver.
you can set laminar "turbulence model" in the constant/turbulencePorperties file.

It is a very clear explanation, thank you!
