Hey guys!

I've been trying to run OF on the cloud(amazon ec2). I need some serious help with this. I'm not a networking guy so I need someone to break it down here.
I looked into Alexey's cloudFlu but somehow did not succeed.
I need a detailed explanation to the whole thing.
Alexey...Bruno...are you listening...help me!!!

Greetings Akshay,

Your post/question isn't very compliant with the instructions given on this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-get-help.html

And I have never used Amazon's EC2, so I have no idea how to use it. But I do vaguely remember that this has already been discussed here on the forum somewhere...
Have you looked for more information about this here on the forum? If so, what have you found out?

Beyond this, what exactly are the problems you are having? Keep in mind the first thread I mentioned.

Best regards,
Bruno

Okay Bruno...now let me put it this way. It is a fresh start.
I need to run OF on the cloud. How and where do I start?
I did go through a couple of existing posts but I couldn't make much sense of it.
I need someone to help me out from scratch here.

Hi Akshay,

Mmm... quoting from the thread I had mentioned:

Sooo... I'll try keep it as short as you did
  1. Here you can find brief information about one of several cloud based services that provide OpenFOAM: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...b-browser.html
  2. Here you can find even more information of the service above and another one as well: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...r-2-cloud.html
Best regards,
Bruno

Bruno,

There is also Ciespace that offers a web based OF service.
But I'm not looking at paid web based architectures to run
OF. I want to run it by myself. I really need someone to
Explain thngs from scratch... Starting instances...running a
solver on the cloud... Extracting data from the cloud etc.

Hi Akshay,

Mmm... then I'm not certain if this is a question for the forum. You're asking for a tutorial that doesn't seem to be available online, at least according to your own research.

The best I can do is suggest that you send a private message to Julien, the original poster on this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...odifiable.html

If you don't know how to send private messages, check these instructions on the forum FAQ: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/faq...ivate_messages

Sorry, but as I said, this is the best I can do, since you had mentioned my name in the original post.

Best regards,
Bruno

Thanks Bruno. I've asked Julien, waiting for his response.
If I'm successful in running OF on the cloud, I shall come back here to post all my learning.
