I'm studying the backward facing step and i have the experimental data so i wanted to use them as initial condition the values of the velocity and turbulent kinetic and i found out that "timeVaryingMappedFixedValue" does this.
But if i plot the Velocity and the turbulent perturbation profile, they differ from the profiles of the experimental data and quite heavily especially for the turbulent velocity. So how does timeVaryingMappedFixedValue interpolate the data given?

Is there any other way to obtain a fully developed with the same or almost the same profile? I searched a lot about the developing part of the channel but i found almost nothing only papers regarding the fully developed part. Please share to me some info.

PS: I uploaded the plotted profile.

Problem Solved.

This Boundary Condition will only interpolate the given data, but i didn't understand how? what method does it use?

It's useful when the huge data and if they are extrapolated from other cases with completely different meshes. If the the meshes are the same, I found that you can use the nonuniform <vector list> #as a boundary condition's type.

Before listing all the vectors you need to specify their number and as a side note if you use the sample utility remember to put "interpolate" as false so you'll have the value at the cell center (as needed by the nonuniform type) and not at the nodes.
