Hyperloop is an interesting vacuum-tube transportation system proposed by Elon Musk last year. He asked for contributions, and I have designed a more simple alternative. The capsule is running at 1,200 km/h in a tube evacuated to 0.001 bar pressure. The displaced gas needs to flow back over the capsule, at nominally supersonic speed.

I am not an OpenFOAM user yet, but I am asking if this is a difficult project, and maybe too challenging for a starter. What are the issues?

Perhaps there is someone out there who would like to do the analysis, as a contribution for Hyperloop, it's a fascinating project.
