Hello Foamers.
I am simulating pressure and velocity of a 3D STL model. I used snappyHexMesh to import the STL model. The simulation is done using sonicFoam. Everything works fine but only datapoints on the surfaces are visible. I can use the slice filter in paraFoam to visualize a 2d plane of the model, but again only datapoints on the surface are visible. What I need to do is capture data in the empty volume between the surfaces like in this simulation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...1iPyXqiWI#t=48 Here are the 3D and 2D images of the model. I am thankful for any hints how this can be achieved. |

I am not quite sure what you mean, only data points on the surface are visible? If you select the slice filter, and change the field you are viewing to pressure, what do you see? Please upload a screenshot if possible.

I uploaded a video of pressure over time http://youtu.be/lxcW3_QNSYw .
The first picture actually shows a screenshot of the pressure. Should it be possible to inspect the pressure and temperature of points which don't lie on the mesh out of the box? Maybe I'm also using a to short simulation time or resolution, so pressure differences only occure on edges. I'm going to run a more detailed and longer simulation tonight and hope for the best |

Its hard to tell from the video, but it seems like pressure gradients are very close to the boundary. You may need to the rescale the color legend.

Thanks for your help. The problem was that my simulation time was too short. Now everything works fine
