second derivatives in the navier stokes equation

Dear all,

I just have a quick question:

are the second derivatives in the navier stokes equation symmetric? In other words:

d/dx d/dy ux(x,y) = d/dy d/dx ux(x,y) ? where ux is the x-component of the fluid velocity.

Thanks for your response!
