InterFoam alpha solution for a centrifuge outlet diverges into non-physical fog

I have extended LTSInterFoam to include SRF features in order to analyze the steady state exit flow (red dot to the left) of a decanter centrifuge:

Most features of my solutions make sense. But my water concentration solutions tend to diverge with solution time into "fog" when the water has left the process chamber and is thrown into ambient air.

I have studied a number of model problems which I learned nothing from: If I do something simpler than throwing a rotating water jet into the atmosphere using a tetrahedral mesh, I get quite nice results.

The source code contains lots of corrective terms of various strength, and I suspect that I could improve my solutions by figuring out how to balance those terms. In most respects, I am a newbie to CFD, but not in the discipline of trying parameter settings in this area...

Any suggestions?
