Pool fire with mass loss

Dear Foamers,

I started to work on a topic of combustion and I wonder: How is it possible to model a mass loss due to combustion of a liquid fluid in pool fire?

I spent quite some time on literature, internet and forums research and I wasn't able to find any usefull information. I always got stuck on the fact, that everybody defines the pool surface as a inlet boundary with constant mass flowrate (velocity) and I haven't found a single study dealing with the heat exchange and evaporation of the fuel. I know that there is developed a model for pyrolysis, but still there is no talk about the weight loss, which would eventualy lead to fire extinction.

Could anybody help me out either by recomendation of reading material, or even better with some advice how to handle it?

Thanks for any help!!

Did you find an answer? I have the same problem

Are you using firefoam

Hi,

I have the same problem and am using fireFoam

Hi, can you tell me which solver did you use to simulate the liquid pool fire? If i use fireFoam, where should i modify the case"3Dsmallpoolfire"? Thank you so much.
