Hello, I started to work on DsmcFoam very recently....I actually am trying to simulate the Flow Field around the Reentry Capsule, that is im trying to solve Hypersonic Flows.
I actually wanted to validate some data obtained from the Journal papers, But most of the data i was studying is being using 2D Geometries, in order to reduce the computation time..... I've created the Mesh using Icem-Cfd and then export the Mesh OpenFoam using .msh File.... What i observed was that after the exporting of the Mesh, the DSMC Foam solver is creating 'FRONT AND BACK PLANES" along the third dimension that is the third axis which is z axis....Ive prepared all the necessary files required for the simulation that is 0 folder, constant and system folders with all the inputs...I'm also able to solve the problem and obtain the results...,but am not observing the data is not in agreement with the data in the Journal papers... (* Along the third axis that is the z axis there is only one cell created by default after exporting the Mesh in the DSMC Foam*) My doubt regarding the problem is that a) Can we solve 2d simulations using DSMCFoam..??? b)Was the method i used for 2D problem setup is correct (or) Is there any other method ? Thanking u.., Hoping answer as quickly as possible..... |
