Default multiphaseInterFoam relative velocities and forces

Hi Forum,

to simulate a falling object I calculate the object's average velocity in every iteration step and subtract it from U.component(2) for the whole domain BEFORE calculating the UEqn.

Now I'm not sure about the influence to the force calculation. Is this an appropriate approach to simulate a falling object ? Is this solver able to work with relative velocities?
