Hi all,

I am very new in CFD and OpenFOAM, since my research domain is sensor networks. But, since I study sensors networks, my objective is to be able to virtually integrate an OpenFOAM simulation with my sensor network simulation, to test communication protocols and other details of it.

For that, I would need, the scenario I'm interested in is from aviation, where my sensor network deployment would be on top of a aircraft wing.

So, my objective is to simulate an airflow through a wing, which might result in transient regions over the wing, depending on the angle of attack for example. I would then, extract data from the wing's surface (like pressure, temperature, and velocity), to feed my sensor network simulation with it.

My ideal scenario would be to extract data from the wing's surface, here:
http://claesjohnson.blogspot.pt/2011...-flight-2.html

From that, I'm not exactly sure where to start from. The wings shape does not meter much, but only the separation effect, mainly. There are airfoil examples, but considering only two dimensions. The motorbike example may be a good starting point, but I am not sure even how to replace it into a wing, and how to setup the parameters.

If anybody have a simulation scenario which is similar to the described, I would be very pleased to accept as an starting point example, with the proper citation on my research.

Thanks in advance for your attention.

Best,

Joćo
