Hi,

I am trying to use swak4Foam with FOAM_EXTENDED 3.1. I have downloaded swak4foam and run configured it using ./Allwmake. I am trying to run an example case using swak4foam and I included the following lines in the controlDict file:

libs (
"libOpenFOAM.so"
"libsimpleSwakFunctionObjects.so"
"libswakFunctionObjects.so"
"libgroovyBC.so"
);

However when I run blockMesh I am getting the warning that libOpenFOAM.so is not found. I checked in my $FOAM_USER_LIBBIN and it is not there..

--> FOAM Warning :
From function dlLibraryTable:pen(const fileName& functionLibName)
in file db/dlLibraryTable/dlLibraryTable.C at line 85
could not load libOpenFOAM.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can someone tell me what is wrong????

I tried searching around a bit and I have a doubt???

In OpenFOAM 2.3 in the OpenFOAM libs directory:
i.e: opt/openfoam230/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/

there is a file named ---> libOpenFOAM.so

but in FOAM_EXTENDED 3.1, it its libs directory:
i.e: foam/foam-extend-3.1/lib/linux64GccDPOpt

this file is not there but there is a file with the name ----> "libfoam.so"

Are these two the same files with different naming conventions for OpenFOAM 2.3 and FOAM_EXTENDED 3.1??????

Quick answer: http://sourceforge.net/p/openfoam-ex...e/ReleaseNotes
Quote:
Version 3.1, nicknamed "Zagreb", is the current version of
foam-extend. The release continues the tradition and spirit of the
original FOAM code developed by prof. Jasak and Mr. Weller during
their time at Imperial College and released as the general purpose
CFD/CCM package by Nabla Ltd. in 2000. In this spirit, we reverted
18 December 2013 to the original numbering scheme (foam-2.3.2, 13
December 2004) as release number 3.0. Visit http://foam-extend.org
for more information.
Therefore, yes, as of foam-extend 3.0, the main library "libOpenFOAM.so" was renamed to "libfoam.so".
