December 13, 2014, 12:37 residualControl with coupled solver #1 Member   Florian Ries Join Date: Feb 2014 Location: Darmstadt, Germany Posts: 88 Rep Power: 4 Hi all, using pimpleFoam with coupled solver (e.g PBiCCCG) and residualControl gives Pimple converged , but the solution is not convergent for all components of U. One example: for residualControl U=1e-7; I get converged case if only one component of U is smaller than 1e-7 like this PHP Code: DILUPBiCCCG:  Solving for Ux, Initial residual = 1.87789e-10, Final residual = 1.86835e-21, No Iterations 4DILUPBiCCCG:  Solving for Uy, Initial residual = 5.59288e-06, Final residual = 5.39998e-17, No Iterations 4DILUPBiCCCG:  Solving for Uz, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 4DICPCG:  Solving for p, Initial residual = 1.71586e-08, Final residual = 9.36155e-11, No Iterations 27time step continuity errors : sum local = 4.03513e-13, global = -2.804e-14, cumulative = -1.48317e-08DICPCG:  Solving for p, Initial residual = 3.66498e-09, Final residual = 9.72055e-11, No Iterations 16time step continuity errors : sum local = 4.1898e-13, global = -2.71143e-14, cumulative = -1.48317e-08DICPCG:  Solving for p, Initial residual = 4.1307e-10, Final residual = 9.01502e-13, No Iterations 79time step continuity errors : sum local = 3.94018e-15, global = 1.01303e-17, cumulative = -1.48317e-08PIMPLE: converged in 4 iterations  So my question: Is there a possibilty to do residual control for coupled solver in a proper way??? Or is everything fine and I miss smth. kind regards Florian
