Hi Everyone,

U-57: PressureInletOutletVelocity, which applies zeroGradient on all components, except where there is inflow, in which case a fixedValue condition is applied to the tangential component;
U-137: PressureInletOutletVelocity Combination of pressureInletVelocity and inletOutlet
PressurInletVelocity When p is known at inlet, U is evaluated from the flux, normal to the patch
inletOutlet Switches U and p between fixedValue and zeroGraident depending on direction of U
So, please explain what is the meaning of pressureInnletOutletVelocity? I would appreciated if you could explain or point me the right material.

I know this is an entry-level question, but as a new user, I am really confused by it for a couple of days. GOD bless me, give me the answer!

Tom

Hi Tom;

So, after some research i guess the definition in OF manual is not good enough. But what it says is that if you have a fixed value for your pressure at the boundary then based on the direction of flow the boundary for the velocity is automatically updated.

If there is an outflow along a face then the velocity bc along the face becomes a zeroGradient whereas if you have an inflow from a face then the inflow is given a value based on the value of 'U' available from the internal cells.
