What is the most appropriate solver for investigation on interaction of wave flow field and an structure, considering that I want to add sediment transport model later? any body can help me?
Thanks in advance

HI moh,

you tried waves2foam, but you can use IHFoam. It is a toolbox like waves2foam, it is also a wave generater with a interfoam solver with a porous media model, is also good for the purpose.

Hi Rafael
Thank you for respond. As I know IH Foam solves navierstoks eq. with VRANS. Am I right? But I want use RANS, so I chose waves2foam.

Hi moh,

thats right IHFoam use the Varans equations for the porous media. But Ihfoam is a interfoam solver when you ant not using porous media. I the porous media zone Ihfoam use the Varans.
Maybe it is interesting for comparing some results or something like this.

Hi moh,

I tried to figuered out if waves2foam are using or not the Varans ou Vans equations in the porous media and I think they do. I think the porousmedia implementation in opemfoam are based on the varans equation. But i'm not sure, I will continuing to investigate, because I am using IHfoam and Waves2foam to simulate a the effects on wavebreaker

This is maybe a interesting paper.

the porous media chapter are with the creater of waves2foam.

I didnt read it only overlooked and seems interesting.

Hi Rafael

Actualy I dont use VRANS and not to model porous media. Just I heared that IHFoam uses VRANS not RANS, so I selected waves2Foam. I hope you success in your research.

regards,
Moh
