Hi all-
First post for me. I am trying to decide whether to run OpenFOAM on a virtual machine or to use Ubuntu and the resident operating system. I've run a few examples using mpirun on VMWare with 4 processors selected. It appears that the load is not distributed among the processor when viewed on the Windows task manager. Any insight? Is this a problem outside of VMWare as well? Thanks a lot. |

A VM is usually adequate for development tasks and small scale testing. If speed is a factor at all then go for the full linux or dual partition approach.
