Hello,

I am trying to incorporate a forced convection heat transfer wall boundary condition in my OpenFOAM simulation using buoyantPimpleFoam. The simulation is of a bottom heated air domain with a moving top wall which is cooled by chilled water with an h = 500W/m^2-K.

I have implemented the boundary condition as:

roller
{
type externalWallHeatFluxTemperature;
kappa fluidThermo;
Ta 300.0;
h -500.0;
value uniform 300.0;
kappaName none;
}

I believe this is set up correctly as it runs with an h = -10, but OpenFOAM break with this higher h value. I have runtime adjustable timestep with Co = 0.3.

The error is:

Courant Number mean: -3.90052 max: 5168.52
deltaT = 4.78629e-17

[39] #0 Foam::error:rintStack(Foam::Ostream&)--------------------------------------------------------------------------
An MPI process has executed an operation involving a call to the
"fork()" system call to create a child process. Open MPI is currently
operating in a condition that could result in memory corruption or
other system errors; your MPI job may hang, crash, or produce silent
data corruption. The use of fork() (or system() or other calls that
create child processes) is strongly discouraged.

The process that invoked fork was:

Local host: node1010 (PID 12768)
MPI_COMM_WORLD rank: 39

If you are *absolutely sure* that your application will successfully
and correctly survive a call to fork(), you may disable this warning
by setting the mpi_warn_on_fork MCA parameter to 0.

Maybe it's not that, but since you are cooling down I'll give it a try with a silly question:

did the absolute temperature go negative at previous step? It usually does this kind of output when it happens, I've seen it sooo many times!
