Hi all,

When I use decomposePar under OpenFOAM-1.6-ext (specifying "simple" as the method of choice), it gives me errors about missing metis-files (e.g. decomposePar: error while loading shared libraries: libparMetisDecomp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory).

Under foam-extend-3.1, I only get warnings about these missing files, apart from that, decomposePar seems to work allright. Unfortunately, the only machine that I can use right now, only runs OpenFOAM-1.6-ext...

I read in an old thread that these errors/warnings have something to do with decomposePar indirectly linking to metis, including a possible solution. However, this solution comprises editing files in $FOAM_UTILITIES/parallelProcessing, to which I have read-only access.

Does anyone know an alternative solution?

Thanks!
Sita
