Hello together,
I need to simulate the transient behaviour of a turbine stage. To reduce the computational costs I want to simulate only one pitch / blade by stator /rotor. With the rhoPimpleDyMFoam and rotationMotion i could rotate the rotor. The Problem is, that the rotor moves sill forward, after he reaches the end of the stator domain (no more rotor-stator-overlapping). For the correct physical behaviour the rotor cell region should jump at the initial position after reaching the end of the pitch and repeat his movement. Is this possible with a standard OF-feature or is it necassary to code something by myself? Best regards |

Hello, everybody,
I think I found a solution. I think that the new boundary condition "cyclicRepeatAMI" allows exactly my simulation: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...29439fac374a60 This boundary condition was implemented in OpenFOAM 6. Now I have the problem that all my own solver extensions are written for v1612+. What can I do to use the new boundary condition "cyclicRepeatAMI" of OpenFOAM 6 under v1612+? It seems to be more complex than a "normal" boundary condition. I would be very grateful for help! Best regards |

Hi,
you have two possibilities. a) Porting your stuff from ESI version to Foundation b) Porting the BC from Foundation version to ESI I am not aware that ESI has such a BC included.
