Using lift and drag as convergence criteria?

Hello all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to create custom convergence criteria for a simpleFoam case, namely my lift and drag values from the forces library. It's openfoam, so I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I can't work it out.

Alternatively, I suppose I could write some kind of script that checks the outputted lift and drag values, is it easy to add a custom ending condition to the simulation?

Hi

It's not possible with older OpenFOAM versions. However, in OpenFOAM 3.0+ there are new convergence criteria implemented that can use the output of other functionObjects.

Thanks that was exactly what I was looking for.

Hi, all

I am using OpenFoam 2.3.1x in Windows. I am wondering if there is a way to use lift and drag coefficients as convergence criteria. Does anyone have an idea?

Obviously, this method does not work (I tried to be sure).

Best regards,
