Dear Foamers,
I am trying to simulate the mixing of particles in rotating machinery using icoUncoupledKinematicParcelDyMFoam with an AMI. But in trying to do so I encounter two problems, which i hope someone can help me with. 1. For some reason particles sometimes stick to the AMI (see picture below) which will cause the solver to get stuck after a while and apparently run into an endless cycle. I could not yet pinpoint when and why exactly this happens. A minimal case which i set up runs just fine concerning the AMI but also encounters the next problem. 2. When the particles get struck by a paddle they come to a rest an will then "shoot" away after a little time as can be seen in the pictures below. This happens even at very tiny timesteps and in different setups. Has anyone ever encountered similar problems or has any idea to why this happens? I am using OpenFOAM 4 dev. Thank you very much in advance Seb |
