Hi,

I'm looking for a LES solver which is able to calculate density fluctuations in liquid-liquid mixtures. The densitiy fluctuations are caused due to chemical reactions of the liquids and/or mixing of the liquids. Typically, you can make the assumption of constant density in liquids (especially in water) but that applies not to all chemical reactions and mixtures.
Until now, I did only calculations with constant density using the oodles solver and simple chemical models depending on the mixture fraction.

So, which solver is the best choice ? (After reacting/mixing there is still one incompressible liquid, no multiphase flow). My favourite solver would be coodles!

Best regards.

density fluctuations

Hi Matthias,
Did you find out something for solving density fluctuations in liquids??
I’m very interested. I also think that coodles would be a good approach …
Please let us know if you were able to solve it

Regards…

Gaby
