Dear fellow Foam-Users,

I'm currently trying to run an injection mold simulation using a modified version of the compressibleInterFoam-solver, and keep running into stability problems.

The case setup is very basic: phase 1 enters a specified cavity geometry and displaces phase 2 (air), which leaves the domain on the other side via ambient boundaries. The walls of the cavity are set up as noSlip (fixedValue) and slip-bcs. It's only a testcase, so the mesh is purely hex and generally good.

After some time during the calculation, I experience strange velocity patterns normal to all slip boundary walls, which eventually blow up my solution. Does anyone else have similar problems using slip-bcs for a multiphase (vof) simulation?
Any hint or help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Florian

Dear Florian,

I am interested in the injection molding simulation too. How is it going on? Hoping that we can help each other. :)

Best wishes,
Jitao
