When I calculating the example of viscoelasticFluidFoam, I run this program,

hi
I didn't hear before about BICGSTAB matrix solver. go to solutionDict and look for which equation you used BICGSTAB solver. change it to a asymmetric matrix solver.
it had guid you and had awared you about valid solvers in the last error.

Hi, viscoelasticFormers, there is another question,
How can i get the parameters of the Giesekus Model about one melt through rheological experiments, like etaS, etaP, alfar, lambda. I want to fit the parameters through the polymat module.

Hello everyone,

I'm working with viscoelastic fluids in my thesis and i need compile viscoelasticInterFoam

Jovani sent me the files. They were: Case (the turorial); Solver (Tutorial - Make folder with; viscoelasticTwoPhaseModels - folder with make, and viscoelasticLaws viscoelasticModel).
I tried to install them as the tutorial viscoelasticFluidFoam (http://lists.cfd-online.com/pipermai...er/029862.html).
So I can not. Is generating a lot of mistakes.

Anyone have any tutorial or way to install it?


I put the folders as viscoelasticFluidFoam, but when I do the command
Wmake libso && && cd -

Generates this error

root @ admin-desktop: ~ / OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6-ext/src/transportModels/viscoelastic viscoelasticTwoPhaseModels # cd / && wmake libso && cd -
wmakeLnInclude: linking include files to. / lnInclude
make: *** No rule to make target `viscoelasticLaws / DCPP / DCPP.dep ', needed by` Make/linux64GccDPOpt/dependencies'. Stop.

Dear Raymond,

In constant/viscoelasticProperties, you just need to remove the "type multiMode" part and only define one mode. It's all rather straightforward, and I think you can even check the viscoelasticProperties-files in the tutorials; there are both single- and multi-mode tutorials.
Furthermore, you need to substitute the taufirst, tausecond, etc. files under 0/ with a single tau file.

Hi,

I think you should start with a basic rheology textbook. Some good ones are: Dynamics of Polymeric Liquids (Part I and II), by Bird, Armstrong and Hassager, Rheology: Principles, Measurements and Applications, by Macosko, and An Introduction to Rheology, by Barnes, Hutton and Walters. Also very instructive: Constitutive Equations for Polymer Melts and Solutions, by Larson.

I ran a case w/ cylinder using Oldroyd-B model and specified the fully-developed velocity profile for the inlet and zeroGradient for outlet. The velocity magnitude and streamline was shown in the attache snapshot. It's quite weird to see two circulation zones near the inlet. Any idea for this problem?

When I using the S-MDCPP model by the default to solve my question, The results of U, P and tau is serious. the pattern is riots. What is wrong with this problem? Maybe you can run it, and check the result. Can anyone help me with this question?
