Hi,Everyone, InterPhaseChan

Hi,Everyone,

InterPhaseChangeFoam in 1.5 provids a good platform for cavitating computation, and if there is a tutorial case for this solver?

Thanks in advance!

Dear all,
If your are interested in interPhaseChangeFoam and you are looking for a tutorial, I have update the well-known dambreak case, and you can use of it to start;

Good Luck,
Hamed

In the interPhaseChange solver. In gammaEqnSubCycle.H, we have this line:

MULES::implicitSolve(oneField(),gamma,phi,phiGamma ,Sp,Su,1,0)

Does anybody know what means " oneField() " ?
And Sp, Su ?

Hi,

I want to use "interPhaseChangeFoam " foam for simulating phase change for boiling of water flowing through a pipe. Can, i use it for this.

I am using SUSE LINUX 11, with OF 1.5 version.

But i didn't find "interPhaseChangeFoam " available there in tutorials folder. can anyone help me in this. Can anyone send it to me

.....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Thanks ,
Vishal.

Hi,

i am really sorry for the stupid mistake from my side. the solveris already available in solvers folder. I am trying to run the dambreak tutorial.

My problem has to be simulated for "water at inlet patch" and water and "water vapour mixture mixture at outlet". can you please tell me how it can be done.

Do i have to specify in the transport properties folder. treating water vapours as phase2...... This question may sound stupid. but......

i have one more issue, the phase change isw caused by heating of water. but i think interPhaseChangeFoam do not take energy equation into consideration. as it does not ask for temprature data.

Please suggest me if anyone has any idea to solve this.

Thanks,

Vishal.

The parameters rho, nu and Psat are statically(fixed) connect with the temperature.

interPhaseChangeFoam with Heat Transfer

I am also working on interPhaseChangeFoam with heat transfer. I understand that saturation pressure is dependent on temperature. I have successfully implemented heat transfer in interFoam by adding energy equation. Could Anyone help me out?

interPhaseChangeFoam + energy equation

Hi Kripalpariyangat, i know its been a long time, but do you succeded in implementing the energy equation into interPhaseChangeFoam?

I want to model a simple case of the evaporation in a pool to check the relative humidity on the domain. Anyone have done that?

thanks

Hi,

I am using InterPhaseChange solver to simulate cavitation in OF2.1x
Although by old versions (i.e. OF1.5) I can get good results, with this new version results are not good at all. Dose anybody else get similar conflicts?

Yes, I also got error negative pressure in OF 2.1.0. Could you get correct pressure filed in OF 1.5? Could you paste the cloud pictures about pressure filed in OF 2.1 and OF 1.5? I want to know what is your meaning about good results in OF 1.5 .

Hi Sandy,

Like you, I was not able to find the source files of OF1.5 yet
I run the simulation on PC of my colleague who had that version.

About the results, it is not just the negative pressure. The distribution and values of pressure seem to be incorrect in OF2.1. I mean having a very high pressure spot in the field which eventually leads to divergence.

In OF1.5, for simple cases such as flow behind a 2d flat plate, the minimum pressure would be positive. But for more complex flows like flow around NACA15, although the vapor and pressure fields distributions seem to be accurate and the frequency of vapor/vortex generation matches with experimental data, the minimum pressure is negative which is wrong. Have you been able to simulate such flows correctly in OF1.5?

In OF2.1, even for simple geometries (e.g. flat plate), I was not able to get results (all the settings were the same as OF1.5).
