Interpolation scheme midpoint vs linear

Hi Foamers,

does anybody has an idea what is the difference of the two schemes mentioned in the caption of this thread?!

Hi Stephan,
Linear takes into account the distances between cell centers and faces. The weight attributed to each adjacent center is inversely proportional to the distance to the face.
Midpoint weights equally the two adjacent values (as 0.5*PhiA + 0.5*PhiB).

do you have any idea how the third coefficient of the cubic polynomial is calculated in case of cubic interpolation scheme?

hi,

i guess it was too late yesterday: i was asking for the third and fourth coefficient of the polynomial...
(i guess the first two should be fixed by the value at the cell centres)
