There is a model test going on
There is a model test going on in our lab to study the nonlinear stiffness, damping etc of a dual camber air spring with inter-connected oriface. One chamber is a fixed cylinder (Dia~2', Length~5') and the other one is of similar size and with a piston moving at stroke~+-3' and period ~3- 10 seconds. I'd like to include the friction in the model at lease for selected cases to see how much extra damping it provides.
How would you model this problem? Can a 2D axisymmetric model be used to save time? Is there a sample case close enough that I can refer?
