archeoptyrx is on a distinguished road
Hello ppl ,

I am trying to simulate the knudsen number flow of 1 , using dsmc slover in OPENfoam .

For this i did the following ,

  1. mean free path = Kn *char length ; (some generated value)
  2. based on t collision model used , i have the formula for mean free path , from which i extract the number density
  3. i used this number density .
  4. Now i calculated t volume of the domain (wedge15 example in dsmc)
  5. No of real molecules = volume of domain * number density ; ( =1.35e17 )
  6. No of simulated molecules = no of real molecules / no of equivalent molecules ; (am i right ???? ) = 67822.3
  7. what is the deltat??
The problem is when i run the simulation ,

The terminal window shows

No of real molecules = 1.7*** e17
No of dsmc particles = 35670 ;

I dont understand how it works . It will be great if someone helps me out .

Thanks
