Hello!
Does anyone have a reference to the implementation of the non-reflecting boundary conditions in OpenFOAM? I did not managed to find it in the manuals. Best regards, Henrik |

Henrik,
I don't know of much documentation on this subject for OF. I can tell you a little bit. OF 1.3 had pressureTransmissive BC's that were a simple method for letting both the value and gradient of pressure at a BC vary around a specified far-field value. pressureTransmissive used a "lever-law", if memory serves. In OF 1.4, pressureTransmissive was dropped in favor of waveTransmissive. The waveTransmissive BC is templated and can thus be used with basically any type of field. There is a wiki page about using waveTransmissive, but no derivation of the equations. For a truly non-reflecting BC, like Poinsot and Lele or Thompson, I don't know of any existing implementation. It could be done, however... David |
