Dear Forum

Wish You all a nice evening

I have a very small confusion related to the values used in /constant/turbulenceProperties for the wall functions:

wallFunctionCoeffs
{
kappa kappa [0 0 0 0 0 0 0] 0.4187;
E E [0 0 0 0 0 0 0] 9.0 ;
}

Using these values yPlusLam is calculated.
The confusion is for the constant in the law-of-the-wall E. I have found its value
E=9.8 (FLUENT uses this value) in various literature sources but at the same time the lecture notes of Prof. Lars Davidson quotes E=9.0 (same as in OpenFOAM).

yPlusLam : 10.9677 (for E=9.0)
yPlusLam : 11.2269 (for E=9.8)

Depending on the value of yPlusLam the High-Re
turbulence model switch to the wall function usage.

I request the experts to comment on which value to use as it seems to be depending upon wall quality as well..

I thank you for your attention

With Best Regards
Jaswi
