Hi,

I am a new user of OpenFoam, so I apologize if this is a stupid question. In order to learn the program I am running a very basic inviscid incompressible flow in a straight pipe using simpleFoam. I have pressure boundary conditions on the inlet and outlet. Using these values, I can determine the expected velocity throughout the pipe (using Bernoulli's equation) which I set as an initial condition in the pipe.

After iterating, I get a uniform flow through the pipe (as I expect), but the velocity magnitude seems to increase unboundedly with more and more iterations. Running the exact same case in Fluent converges very quickly, so I assume there is something I am overlooking in OpenFoam as I set up my case.

If anyone has any insight as to what might cause this problem, I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hi Greg,
I have the same problem. Have you solved it?
Thanks.
