dear all,
i want to implement a simpleFoam run to initialize a LES run. Could you please give me some suggestions: which turbulence model would be better in SimpleFoam? Thanks. |

I am not sure there is any turbulence model that woould fare better for your purpose as long I guess as the main feature of the flow are predicted (that depends of your case, a k=eps model can do the trick).
What's important is for the fluctuations in the turbulent velocity field to get kick-started. Eugene might give better advice for that.;-) Pierre |

Pierre is right, the choice of turbulence model does not matter much for a simpleFoam initialisation.
About getting resolved turbulence started in the LES run, well now that depends entirely on the case. |
