hello, everyone :

I am a newbie of openFoam. I want to solve a simple like the picture below.

There are adiabatic at the wall region in the picture. There are constant convection coefficient at point 6~8,11,14~16 and constant heat rate imput at the bottom.

I have found the solver is chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam. but there are Multiple region. I think there is a simple case. do anyone can give me some recommend about solver? really appreciate~

Hi Pan,
  • buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam
  • Transient solver for buoyant, turbulent flow of incompressible fluids
  • buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam
  • Steady-state solver for buoyant, turbulent flow of incompressible fluids
  • buoyantPimpleFoam
  • Transient solver for buoyant, turbulent flow of compressible fluids for ventilation and heat-transfer
  • buoyantSimpleFoam
  • Steady-state solver for buoyant, turbulent flow of compressible fluids, including radiation, for ventilation and heat-transfer
If you have only fluid region these solvers are much more suitable for your case.

Kind regards,
Said.

Really thanks for your reply, and if my case just fro one region with solid. Are above solver suitable for this condiction?

Pan, very appreciate, best regard.

You can use chtMultiRegionFoam with one region without problems. It will work.

For cases like yours I would use Syrthes from.the EDF, but with openFoam It will work very well
